Charlie the snowman
Playing in the snow with my four year old has been so much fun. We built our snowmen and have gone sledding. And I realized this is the last year that we will be able to go out in the middle of the day and just play-next year he’s in kindergarten. Where does the time go? So, I am enjoying every freezing cold moment I can have.

Just a quick reminder about our Annual Mother’s Day Trunk Show this Saturday-May 10th featuring Kala Jewelry. It’s a great event-we get great pastries, a raffle to win free jewelry, tons of jewelry to choose from (always great for Mom!) and overall fun!! We will be there on Saturday 10-6 showing off the new jewelry. Come down and see us-we’ll have the balloons hanging off the door-if for nothing else-very yummy pastries! See you then!!
Well, the parade has marched by amidst swirling wind and rain, and even a few flurries. We shivered and waved. My 3 year old refused to say he was cold until he was shaking and only then could we pop into shelter for 3 minutes. Green t-shirt clad people stumble around after their breakfast of beers and eggs. It’s a fun site. A lot of public urination. Too public. Needless to say, it probably has livened up what would have been a pretty dreary day here in Newport. A few of our regular customers have popped in-thanks! Luck of the Irish to you all!

Welcome to our blog! Truthfully, I’m not sure about what I’m doing, but I thought this would be a great way to introduce all the new things going on at Primavera. And people say-you should have a blog! So, here we go a blogging.
For those of you who have shopped in the store, or ordered on-line,or by phone-I just want to introduce our staff-it is our most prized possession. I own the store with my mother, Maria. Working for us we have Jillian (13 years), Doreen (10 years, and my old college roommate), Beth (10 years) and her daughter Rachael (3 years), their sister Cathy (started this year) and their cousin Connie (4 years), Meghan (3 years), Debbie (2 years), and Leslie (who, although has just started this year, has previously owned a store near us, so it seems like 13). There is also a handful of people who have worked for us in the past and come in and out-Kelle (another college roommate) opened the store with us and she comes back every few years for some fun. And I would be remiss in forgetting Colleen (only leaving because she moved). And last but NEVER least, there is Jack, Papa Jack as he is now known, our very helpful unpaid intern. Jack can be seen chauffeuring Maria around, schlepping garbage to the dumpster or just sitting outside on a beautiful sunny day, reading The New Yorker magazine. (He’s also my Dad). If you do, say Hi! So, that is the crew and we are all here whooping it up and honestly having fun!
In the next months, we will be building our website, our products and our business. We look forward to this coming year and want to thank our customers for all the support in the past 13!
